Capitol Records however released Perry's EP Ur So Gay in 2007. The track that was the title track was a jolly and sly single that garnered little or no interest. Many critics accused the track as a sly reference to homosexuality and others believed the song's sexually explicit lyrics were meant to appeal to male fantasies. The combination of sensuality, polished music and a catchy chorus helped the song become a top 10 hit in a variety of countries. The result was The album, One of the Boys (2007) which was a huge success. Its bouncy, sharp-tongued and bouncy second single Hot N Cold also proving well-loved, the album the songs Perry created herself ultimately registered greater than 3 million copies across the United States.
